Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream Review

Hello :)
With the seasons changing slowly and the weather getting warmer many of us will be turning to a lighter base for the harsh rays of the summers heat.

Now Spring is finally here and the temperature hopefully climbs higher it's always a good idea to give our skin a break from the heavy foundations we cake it with in the Winter. I'm a big fan of a good tinted moisturiser all year round, as I'm not a big fan of foundation anyway. Sometimes when my skin is in good condition I just puff on some powder as it gives my face a healthy look. As we all no Boots is having a '3 for 2' offer and it sucked me in, I new I wanted a BB cream so I went around the store testing all the BB creams on the back of my hand (you can imagine the state of that afterwards) so I grabbed this BB cream off the shelf, eager to try it after all the hype over it.

In case you weren't away BB basically stands for 'Beauty Balm'. Its basically a moisturiser blended with SPF and foundation to give a light coverage. This particular product from Maybelline claims to have 8 benefits in 1 cream, quite a lot to live up to if you ask me but I've been pleasantly surprised. This product comes in four 'creamy' shades and includes these 8 benefits:

• Imperfections look blurred
• A natural looking glow
• Fresh feel
• Compliments skin tone
• Skin looks smooth
• Hydrates
• Protects with SPF 30
• Oil free, non greasy

It certainly compliments my light skin tone, hydrates and looks fresh and natural and it doesn't dry up at all. It doesn't leave my skin feeling weighed down, in fact this feels like a light moisturiser which I'd expect as this is a water based cream so it's perfect for those who have an oily skin type. Obviously it has a very light coverage but it would not blur any redness and it would lightly cover acne scarring. You also have the added benefit of SPF 30 which means you wont end up looking like a lobster from the suns harsh full rays.

I'd certainly recommend this BB cream to anyone looking for a light coverage and that will hydrate at the same time with a natural, fresh finish to the skin. If I was to give it any criticism I would say it needs a longer lasting power for those long summer days.

This product usually retails for around £7.99 so price wise it's similar to that of a drugstore foundation this in my opinion isn't too bad for such an impressive product. I hope this has helped you and I hope you give it ago.
Love Vintagebluebelles

P.S. I apply this BB Cream with my fingers as I think it gives me a even coverage. I then add a light layer of mineralised setting powder to give it that finished look.
